⊕ Torre Santa Lucia on Lago Trasimeno

1.  Isola Magiore.  St. Francis  fasted on the island for the 40 days of Lent in 1211 AD.  A chapel and small village remain.

2.  The Castle of Magione . Established in  the 13th century by the Templars for protection of Pilgrims to the Holy City

3.  Montecolognola.   Hannibal ambushed 3 Roman Legions in the fog between the city and the neighboring hills in the epic Battle of Lago Trasimeno in 217 BC.    

4.  Castel Rigone.  Fortifications built here by the Visigoth general Rigo were used in the siege of Perugia in 543 AD.

5.  Passignano sul Trasimeno.   Lively village on the Lake with an illustrious history dating back to Etruscan times. Great restaurants, boutiques and cafes.

6.  Castiglione del Lago.   Interesting medieval walled town filled with great shops and restaurants.

7.  The Borgia Castle.  A favorite of Lucretia Borgia for her retreats at the Lake in the early 16th century.
